Meet Your Instructor: Ustadha Shamira Chothia Ahmed

Ustadha Shamira is an educator and founder of Her Sacred Path, where she teaches practical faith, women’s fiqh, and the Prophetic foundations of worship and womanhood. She completed her intense five-year ‘ālimah program at Ja’mia Al-Imam Muhammad Zakariyya, holds an ijāzah in Tajwīd from Shaykh Hasan al-Kurdī from Syria, and earned a Master’s degree in Demographics and Social Analysis from UC Irvine.  Specializing in Hanafi fiqh for women—particularly matters related to menstruation, childbirth, and postnatal worship—she brings clarity to the daily spiritual lives of Muslim women. As a certified birth doula, lactation educator, and mother of five, she also helps women navigate their homes, family dynamics, and worship routines with confidence and calm.   Ustadha Shamira has taught women and girls for over twenty years, co-founded the Rahmah Foundation, and currently serves Muslim sisters across the Bay Area and beyond. Her work focuses on helping women build homes and hearts anchored in remembrance, tranquility, and nearness to Allah.
